It's inspired by The Hero's Journey, humanity's most essential myth. I also learned from other frameworks like Donald Miller's Storybrand and Brendan Dell's High Impact Messaging.

This is my take on a timeless approach.

How to use the Heroic Customer Story Framework:

  1. Answer each question in the infographic above.
  2. Talk directly with customers to understand their journey.
  3. Try to generate 20 topic ideas.
  4. Map out those topic ideas to the framework.

The Heroic Customer Story will give your content strategy an underlying structure that naturally pulls your audience along.
