Meet Allison Byers

Allison Byers is a founder, investor, and capital access advocate working to build a funding system that includes The Rest of Us. She’s the founder and CEO of Scroobious, a relationship-first platform that helps founders and investors build trust to fund innovation. She co-authored California’s landmark SB54 law requiring venture capital firms to publicly report diversity data; the first law of its kind in the U.S.

Allison’s advocacy began after her own experience raising nearly $10 million for a medtech startup spun out of MIT, only to watch the all-male team that acquired it raise $55 million after she couldn't close a Series B. When she dug into capital allocation data, she realized she hadn’t failed—the system had.

Today, she serves on multiple boards and task forces and speaks regularly on startup ecosystem redesign. Her work has been featured in many outlets, including Bloomberg and The Boston Globe, which once called her “Boston’s answer to Elon Musk.”

She lives near Boston with her family and plants a garden every summer, even though the critters always win.
